After an incredibly wet April and start of May in the Dordogne, all the animals, plants, and insects who are part of the ecosystem here at La Girouette are soaking up a few days of sunshine and warmth and this hard-working gardener is putting her feet up and enjoying the fruits of her labour! 🌞🌞🌞 Now, if only the slugs and snails would take a break too, life would be perfect!

I have had so much joy this week reconnecting with a few old coaching clients who have reached out to benefit from my Spring Coaching Offer. It has been really wonderful to see them again after several years and I have been reminded of how impactful coaching can be.

This was the first Vision Board I ever created for myself back in 2008 and it is incredible to see how much of it has manifested.... a beautiful home in France, yoga every day, great friendships, healthy diet, dogs, self-confidence, hapiness, travel to beautiful places, music, clothes I love etc.

Please sponsor Georgia! #REPOST @sniphist I've spent a lot of time recently trying new things and gently pushing myself just past the edges of my comfort zone, as a way to challenge overwhelming anxiety that was controlling my life for most of the second half of last year. Last autumn I did a kayaking class, earlier this year I went on my first camping trip with a friend, recently I started an art class, and this weekend I went on my first solo camp!

Because of my health, I have a lot of anxieties about doing things by myself - I worry that I'll fall and dislocate my knee far from accessible roads, or that I'll wake up too sore or fatigued to do the rest of my hike and be stuck somewhere. They're not unfounded worries - I've dislocated my knee multiple times in my own home, and I used to regularly wake up unable to move far from bed. But I've also got better at managing my health, knowing my limits and not overdoing it (too much, I still do occasionally 🙄), and building in lots of rest time.

I had to consider my health a lot even for this little trip - my dodgy ankle is taped in place, I wore compression socks and leggings, I drank electrolytes for my POTS, and I used a walking stick. I planned the journey so it wouldn't be too hilly, there were well maintained paths to minimise strain on wobbly ankles, I wouldn't be too far from help if I needed it, and I knew I'd have a shorter walk the second day.

And, with all that I set out on a lovely from Cramond to South Queensferry, with a camp on the beach at Peatdraught Bay, and it was lovely 💖⛺ Sitting having a coffee in my sleeping bag while watching the sea was a perfect start to the day, followed by a lovely brunch before the bus home.

I have no doubt I'll have a big fatigue crash in the coming days, but I'm prepared for it - and it's worth it, to try new things and expand my comfort zone a little bit!

I also added 15km onto my distance so far this month, as I aim to walk 100km to raise money for EDS UK - a small charity who are doing a lot of work to support people like me who have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome 💖 the link to donate is in my bio and highlights 🦓

After 5 years of very hard work getting our own garden and potager in shape I finally feel that I have time to volunteer every Tuesday morning for the excellent @happycultors. So this morning was spent sowing seeds, potting on beautiful, healthy, organic vegetable and flower plants, chatting in French, drinking tea, and making new friends in a gorgeous environment. I ❤️ the ethos of this fabulous initiative and all that they are doing and I feel that I have finally found my tribe. #happycultors

This was definitely the most expensive taxi ride I have ever had! After 2 dramatic aborted attempts to land during a storm at Bergerac yesterday🛫✈️🛩️🛬🛩️🛬✈️, the plane home from Edinburgh was diverted to Tours and, eventually, @ryanair organised taxis for the 4 hour drive back to Bergerac!! 🫣 I finally got home at 1am, only 9 hours later than expected!!

Keeping everything crossed that @ryanair make it easy for the 4 of us who shared this adventure to claim back our taxi fare quickly. 🤞🤞🤞 #ryanair
